How are groups using the People Map?Thanks to the power moderators have to the customize the entry form for their group, different groups can use the People Map in very different ways.Below we have created some sample screenshots of how four different types of groups (alumni, neighborhood parents, softball league, and fan club) might choose to use the People Map. Hopefully, these examples will help you figure out how best to customize the People Map for your group. Alumni Group The People Map is a great tool for alumni groups to enable former classmates to stay in touch. This alumni group has asked people to just let folks know what city they are now in (as opposed to an exact address), which is a great way of enabling its members to reconnect with classmates who live near them, without the pressure of divulging a specific address. And by asking members "what are you up to now", they're essentially enabling group members to create a mini-profile for themselves within the group. ![]() Neighborhood Parents This parents group has decided to use the People Map to make it easy for parents to arrange playdates. By having folks input their location and the ages of their children, they have created a secure way for Moms and Dads to find families within walking or easy driving distance who might be good candidates for a playdate. ![]() Softball League This softball league wanted to help their members organize carpools to games and informal pick-up games. Now, league members can see who lives near them, what team they are on, and what days they are available to play. ![]() Fan Club This fan club People Map is making it possible for Johnny Cash lovers to find fellow fans in their area and to share some of their favorite songs and concerts.
