Yahoo! Messenger and Answers World Cup Prize Draw
Terms and Conditions

  1. This prize draw is run by Yahoo! UK Limited (company number 03244285), 125 Shaftesbury Avenue, London WC2H 8AD, United Kingdom ("Yahoo!").

  2. By entering this prize draw, you agree to these terms and conditions. No purchase is necessary in order to enter the prize draw. You will be responsible for all costs and expenses relating to the prize draw, such as the cost of you accessing the Internet and any other costs associated with your participation in the prize if you win. (See paragraph 7 below for further information.)

  3. You must be 18 or over and a resident of the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland to enter into this prize draw and participate in the prize if you win. Employees of Yahoo! or any of its group companies or its agencies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter. Entrants will be deemed be the natural person to whom the email address (provided on entry) is registered. Each time you add a friend to Yahoo! Messenger or get judged as the best answer on Yahoo! Answers an entry in your name will be submitted to the current open draw. Once submitted, your entry/ies will remain in the draw and be carried over to the next draw until either you win or the close of draw 6. Details of each draw are shown in the table below. You are only eligible to win a maximum of 1 pair of tickets across draws 1 to 6.

  4. To be eligible for a relevant draw, you must submit your application as detailed on the prize draw entry submission page at http://advision.webevents.yahoo.com/fifaworldcup_uk in accordance with the table below, before the closing date for that draw (as detailed in the table below). Entries must be received not later than 07:59 hours BST (23:59 Pacific Standard Time) on or before the relevant draw date. Entries received after this time will be entered into the next draw. Yahoo! is not responsible for telephone, network, electronic or computer failures or delays of any kind or for entries that are misdirected, incomplete, garbled, delayed, lost, late or damaged.

    5. All tickets quoted below are pairs of tickets – e.g. 7 = 7 pairs of tickets (14 in total)

    All valid winners from draws 1 to 6 will automatically be entered into an additional draw to win a pair of tickets for the World Cup Final in Berlin on 9th July 2006. There will be 2 pairs of tickets drawn from the pool of previous winners of the Yahoo! Messenger and the Yahoo! Answers promotions.

  5. Yahoo! will select winners and prizes by random from amongst the complete entries for each draw as noted in the table above. All winners will be notified by email on or before the relevant date set out in the table.

  6. The prize for the winner will be a pair of tickets only. NB: There will be no travel or accommodation included, it will be the responsibility of the winner to arrange their own travel and accommodation.


  7. There will be no cash alternative instead of the prize. Tickets are non-transferable and the winner must comply with Yahoo! and the third party supplier's instructions about the prize, including but not limited to the Terms and Conditions of the ticket.

  8. You may also write to Yahoo! after 1 June 2006 at the address above, to see if you have won the prize. Every reasonable effort will be made to contact the winners. If a winner cannot be contacted within one week of the relevant prize draw, the prize will revert to Yahoo! and may be awarded to another entrant at Yahoo!'s absolute discretion.


  9. The prize will be sent by registered post or courier to the address provided by the winner. Yahoo! does not accept any responsibility for any failure by the postal service to deliver the prizes or the winner's failure to accept delivery of his/her prize.


  10. Yahoo! may use information relating to the prize draw for marketing or promotional purposes, including use of the winner's name and likeness. Otherwise, personal information of entrants will always be used to conduct the prize draw, for participation in the prize and in accordance with Yahoo!'s Privacy Policy, currently located at http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy/uk.


  11. Yahoo!'s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. These terms and conditions and the prize draw are governed by the laws of England. Yahoo! may terminate these terms and conditions and the prize draw if it becomes necessary to do so due to circumstances beyond either's reasonable control.
